Night Driving was absolutely wonderful at Eddie’s Attic on Friday night. We arrived a little later than we had hoped to and were fearing the worst, i.e. walking into a quiet room, with few people, late. Its the worst. But, my oh my! We had nothing of the sort greeting us. The room was completely packed! Not a seat in the joint or standing room for that matter. We grabbed the last two spots, sadly by the exit door which created a few problems, but who cares. And the room was anything but “quiet”. Night Driving played mostly new tracks from their upcoming album and for those of you who don’t know, the band’s sound is migrating from the folkier sounds of yore into a bit heavier, more intricate rock vibe that is no-doubt, some of their best work yet.

Every time we see them play, they are even better than before and bring something new. We were blown away. And judging by the “awwwww, no” response of the crowd when the band said they only had two more songs, we are thinking they felt the same way.

You can catch the band at a house show in Decatur on Saturday night, August 22 and then again at the Earl with Fruit Bats on September 6.
